COLUMBIA — William P. Clinch of Hallsville was indicted on Friday after charges had been dropped and refiled by Boone County Prosecutor Dan Knight on Jan. 27.
Knight dropped the charges and immediately refiled them just before Clinch's first trial began because Boone County Circuit Judge Gene Hamilton said he would tell the jury to broadly interpret Missouri's self-defense statute, according to previous Missourian articles.
Clinch's arraignment is scheduled for Monday afternoon and will be heard by Boone County Circuit Judge Gary Oxenhandler.
Clinch is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the fatal shooting of his brother-in-law, Jeremy Bohannon, 32. The incident happened in the parking lot of a McDonald's restaurant on Clark Lane in 2007.
