COLUMBIA – The Columbia School Board will be recognizing a senior from Hickman High School at its Monday meeting.
Special recognition is being given to Ashok Cutkosky, a senior at Hickman High School, who has received the Siemens Award. The award recognizes superior accomplishment in math, science and technology.

In addition to the recognition, Michelle Gadbois, the board president, will present a report from the Columbia Missouri National Education Association and Columbia Public Schools Employee Organization.
The interim superintendent, Jim Ritter, will talk about budget developments for the 2009-2010 fiscal year and give an update on financial parameters under consideration by the school district.
The school board will decide whether to take action on a series of grants and programs including the Extension of Comprehensive School Improvement Plan and Technology Plan.
The board designated the last week in January to recognize its members and will give special recognition at the February board dinner and meeting. The dinner will be held at Boone County National Bank, 720 E. Broadway.
