COLUMBIA – The Hickman girls basketball team suffered a 51-36 loss at home against Jeff City, making its record 11-12.
Senior Chasity Prince led Hickman with 12 points and senior Nicole Schulz followed with 11, all of which she scored in the first half. Sophomore Sarah Hall contributed 8 points and four rebounds. Hickman still could not get a lead on Jeff City.
“We had poor decisions in our offense at times when we had a chance in the second quarter to get back in,” said head coach Tonya Mirts.
At the half Hickman only trailed by seven points, 28-21.
“We needed to play one-on-one defense,” said Mirts. “They shot very well.”
“We needed to execute our offense better and talk on defense,” said Schulz. “They were on fire tonight and did everything they were supposed to.”
