The Columbia College women's basketball team continued its dominance of Missouri Baptist with a 83-56 victory Thursday night in St. Louis.
“We really shot the ball well,” said Cougars coach Mike Davis, whose team beat the Spartans 92-59 earlier this season. "We had a 54 percent shooting percentage."
The Spartans (13-9) made only 27 percent of their shots on Thursday.
The victory improves the Cougars' winning streak to five since a loss to William Woods on Jan. 22. At 23-2 and 10-1 in the American Midwest Conference, they are closing on the Columbia College record of 31 wins (2004-2005).
Rachel Oswald led the Cougars, No. 16 in the NAIA, with 24 points. Whitney Widaman had 22 points and nine rebounds, and Whitney Davis had 11 assists and was 8-for-13 from the floor.
“We had a nice, well-rounded night,” Mike Davis said.
