COLUMBIA — Newspaper layoffs are reaching critical proportions. Detroit papers are cutting home delivery, Gannett is requiring furloughs and the Columbia Missourian is cutting its publications days down from seven to five. The Columbia Missourian's managing editor, Jeanne Abbott, talks to KBIA’s Sean Powers about the economy’s impact on the news business.
