MU softball team wins season opening tournament

The Missouri softball team won its season opening tournament, going 3-0 this weekend at Georgia State's First Pitch Classic.

The No. 17 Tigers earned the title by beating the hosts 6-2 on Sunday. Freshman pitcher Chelsea Thomas earned her second win of the season, giving up five runs on two hits in 5 2/3 innings. She struck out six and walked one. 

Senior Lindsey Ubrun went 2-for-3 against Georgia State, making her 6-for-11 with seven runs for the tournament. Sophomores Abby Vock and Rhea Taylor also got two hits each on Sunday and senior Micaela Minner drove in two runs.
