The Missouri football team has filled a hole in its 2009 schedule, agreeing to host Furman of the Football Championship Subdivision on Sept. 19.
Furman is among the top FCS programs in the country, making the playoffs seven times in the last 10 seasons while going 86-38. The Palladins were 7-5 last season, including a solid 24-7 loss at Virginia Tech in September.
Furman will play another BCS school the following week, playing at Auburn.
Associate athletic director Mark Alnutt said Monday that it takes some "maneuvering to fill a game this late in the process," but that the Tigers "feel good with this arrangement."
Missouri opens Sept. 5 against Illinois in St. Louis. The home opener is set for Sept. 12 against Bowling Green.
