Council extends public comment time for Vision Implementation Report

COLUMBIA — The public now has an extra month to submit comments about the Vision Implementation Report after the City Council approved an extension request by the Columbia Vision Commission on Monday.

Citizens now have until March 27 to comment on the report. Comments can be sent via email to bdinfo@buildingdialogue.com or submitted anonymously through the completion of several surveys on the city's Web site, according to a news release from Assistant City Manager Paula Hopkins.

The commission requested the extension to provide time for “a more thorough engagement of boards, commissions, citizen-centered groups and individuals,” commission chair Jeffrey Williams said.

The implementation report, compiled by consultant Sarah Read of the Communications Center, tracks the existing efforts for Columbia's visioning process, inventories resources needed to accomplish goals of the commission and identifies the organizations that are needed for their implementation, the release stated.

The Columbia Vision Commission was created to oversee the progress of the Imagine Columbia’s Future reportand to advise the City Council about how to follow the Imagine Columbia’s Future report.
