COLUMBIA –The Hickman girls basketball team gave coach Tanya Mirts a reason to pleased at the end of its regular season finale, a 64-24 win over St. Teresa Academy.
“We rebounded really well and executed half court offense pretty well,” Mirts said. “We didn’t force a lot.”
Hickman had a 30-15 lead at the half. Senior Chasity Prince led Hickman with 25 points. Sophomore Aqua Corpening followed with 13 points, and senior Nicole Schulz contributed seven.
“We’ve come a long way, from being 0-6 at the beginning of the season,” said Mirts. “For a team that’s very inexperienced, I’m proud of what they’ve achieved.”
Hickman finished the regular season with a record of 11-14. The team plays its first district game next week against Troy.
