COLUMBIA — Micaela Minner and Shana White had multi-hit games and headed up an outstanding lineup by Missouri batters Friday in a 9-1 win over Florida Atlantic at the Strike-Out Cancer Tournament.
White, a senior centerfielder, went 3-for-4 and scored two runs for the No. 15 Tigers (5-0). Minner was 2-for-3 and drove in three runs.
A four-run fourth inning helped Missour secure its lead. Catcher Katie Mills reached base on a walk, and moved to second when shortstop Abby Vock was hit by a pitch.
After a single loaded the bases, Mills scored on a walk, followed by Thrid baseman Lindsey Urban's sacrifice fly that brought in Millles. The scoring was rounded out when Minner slapped a single to bring in the other two runners.
Pitcher Jana Haney pitched five innings, allowing just one run on four hits to notch her second win of the season.
The Tigers start the second day of the tournament when they take on Arkansas at 8 a.m. Saturday in Boca Raton, Fla.
