The Missouri softball team improved to 7-0 this season after shutting out FIU 5-0 on Saturday at the Strike-Out Cancer Tournament in Boca Raton, Fla.
The win gives the Tigers a 4-0 record at the tournament hosted by Florida Atlantic and marks Missouri’s second win of the year over the Golden Panthers. Earlier on Saturday, the Tigers beat Arkansas 8-0.
Senior Stacy Delaney was credited with the win against FIU, her first of the season. She threw six complete innings for Missouri’s fourth shutout of the year, striking out five and forced nine groundouts. Junior lefty Jana Hainey entered in the seventh, striking out two of the four batters she faced.
Shana White, Marla Schweisberger, Andee Allen and Gina Schneider all had two hits for the Tigers.
The Tigers will close out the tournament at 9 a.m. Sunday against Providence.
