The Stephens swimming team had five fewer swimmers than Hannibal-LaGrange, but that didn't stop the Stars from winning their final regular season meet Saturday at the Stephens Natatorium.

Two weeks ago, Stephens fell short by one point against Hannibal-LaGrange. This time the Stars won 94-70. Stephens coach Laura Wacker said her strategy helped the Stars.

"We didn't swim the first relay which allowed some of the girls to swim in three individual events," Wacker said.

The individual events were key to Stephens win. Jennifer Alander and Emily Younghouse each placed at the top for their individual events.

"The team was proud of their efforts," Wacker said.

The Stars now prepare for the NAIA nationals March 4 to 7 at the St. Peters Rec-Plex.
