Hickman boys basketball gets another shot at Rock Bridge

COLUMBIA — After getting swept in the regular season by its rival, the Hickman boys basketball team will have another shot at Rock Bridge in the Class 5 District 9 championship game.

The Kewpies defeated Troy Buchanan 54-51 on Wednesday night to advance to the title game.

Eric Franklin was the leading Hickman scorer in the game with 17 points. A.J. Terrill pitched in 16 points as well. Jordon Lasater had 16 points for Troy Buchanan

The Kewpies had to make a fourth-quarter comeback in order to advance after trailing 45-39 at the end of the third quarter. Ken Ash's team held Troy Buchanan to just six points in the final quarter.

Hickman shot 50 percent from the floor and made 10 of 12 free throws on the night.

Hickman will play Rock Bridge at 7 p.m. Friday at Holt High School.
