Two arrested after police search residence

COLUMBIA – Police arrested two individuals Thursday during a drug search at a residence, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.

A search warrant for 809 N. Garth Ave. had been obtained as part of an investigation in reference to suspected drug activity, the release stated. As police entered the residence, an object was thrown from a second-story window, which was later identified as a loaded Kahr Arms .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun that had been reported stolen in Kansas City, the release stated..

Police encountered 11 individuals in the residence, two of which had outstanding warrants for their arrest, the release stated.

Devin D. Jackson, 17, is being held on $300 bond for peace disturbance. Gloria L. Patrick, 19, is being held on $450 bond for stealing and a $297.50 bond for traffic violations. Both are residents of Columbia.

The search of the residence and property revealed no further evidence of drugs. Police are investigating the firearm.
