COLUMBIA — Three individuals were arrested at 7 p.m. Monday for having illegally obtained prescription drugs.

Justin Weeks, 20, of Fulton, was charged with possession with intent to distribute and driving with a suspended license. His bond was set at $20,500. Weeks' brother Richard Weeks, 17, of Hope Mills, N.C., and Christina Buxton, 19, of Fulton, were each charged with felony possession of narcotics with bonds set at $4,500.

According to a news release from the Boone County Sheriff's Department, deputies stopped a vehicle traveling on the 600 block of Rustic Road that had its registration improperly displayed. Deputies said upon stopping, the passenger and driver of the vehicle switched places.

The five passengers of the car consented to searches, which yielded 26 tablets of prescription drugs, the release stated. Maj. Tom Reddin said the pills found on the three suspects were believed to be Percocet. He added the pills were obtained without a prescription and the $1,300 cash found in the vehicle implied the pills were to be sold.

The three arrested were released from jail Monday night, each posting bond through the same company.
