Units from the Boone County Fire Protection District responded to a natural cover fire at 11:45 a.m. Friday in northern Boone County, according to Scott Olsen, interim fire chief of the Boone County Fire Protection District.
Two engines, two brush trucks, two tankers, a rescue squad and an ambulance responded to a call from a resident who saw the fire when the burning came close to the house.
Olsen said the fire came within about four feet of a residence at 8104 Chesley Drive.
There were no injuries but four acres were damaged, Olsen said.
