What is a 17 year old girl doing out at 3:30 in the morning. Doesn't anyone believe in parenting anymore? When they catch the molester and give him some time, the parents should be ocupying the same cell.
Maybe because under Missouri law, 17 is considered adult. A 17-year-old can move out on her own, and legally the parent(s) cannot stop him/her. But they still can be held legally and financially responsible for her, such as if she injures someone, and that person's lawyer goes looking for the deepest pockets.
Plus, the parents cannot legally emancipate themselves from a 17-year-old. Only the child can initiate that.
