The event will showcase 50 food and beverage vendors, said Pat Bergauer, executive vice president of the Mid-Missouri Restaurant Association. Sophia’s, Forge and Vine, Bambinos, Jazz and Boone Tavern are a few of the restaurants that will be at the event.
The Taste of Mid-Missouri also highlights several new Columbia restaurants, including Ingredient, Room 38 and Coley’s American Bistro.
Jeffrey Guinn, a resident instructor for the department of hotel and restaurant management, said he is particularly excited for the addition of Coley’s to the event. A 2008 alumnus of the MU program opened the restaurant earlier this year.
“The event is a great opportunity for the restaurants to showcase their talents and to be seen by a large number of people,” Guinn said. “So it’s pretty cool for us to have an alumnus be in the event.”
