COLUMBIA — A Columbia woman pleaded guilty to second-degree statutory rape Monday in Boone County Circuit Court.
Angela M. Trouten, 31, was charged with having sex with a 15-year-old boy at her Roseta Avenue residence in July 2008.
Trouten and the boy knew each other through Trouten's two children.
Trouten previously pleaded not guilty to the charge, according to Missouri Case.net. Harvey Hoffman, Trouten's attorney, declined to comment on Trouten's decision to change her plea.
Assistant Prosecutor Andrew Scholz recommended a four-year sentence in Boone County jail but deferred the decision to Judge Kevin Crane. Crane will determine whether Trouten is sentenced to jail time or probation after reviewing a sentence assessment report from the Board of Probation and Parole.
Trouten's sentencing hearing is at 1:30 p.m. April 27 in Boone County Circuit Court.
