Novinger man charged after 26 cattle killed

MACON — A Northeast Missouri man faces charges of property damage and armed criminal action for the alleged shooting of 29 cattle.

Larry C. McFarland, 52, of Novinger, is accused of shooting to death 26 of the cattle on Jan. 12 in Macon County.

Three survived.

McFarland already is in custody on other charges. Bond in the Macon County case has been set at $25,000.
