HANNIBAL — Seven years after St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary in Hannibal closed, students will again be attending school at the campus.
This time, the students will be middle-school-age children, and the school will be called Hannibal Christian Academy.
The former seminary is home to Hannibal Evangelical Free Church, which held its first worship service there on Sept. 5, 2004.
Pastor Jim Woychuk revealed plans for the new school on Friday. It's scheduled to open in the fall.
The Jefferson City Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church closed St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary in 2002 amid accusations of rampant sexual abuse by a former instructor. Its grounds were sold Aug. 31.
