COLUMBIA — Early Sunday morning officers from the Columbia Police Department, Columbia Fire Department, and the MU Police Department investigated a reported explosion inside a parked car at about 1:30 a.m.
According to a news release from the Columbia Police Department, the car was parked on the 2700 block of Jonquil Place and was owned by a resident on the street.
The damage included broken and cracked windows, burned personal items and interior damage. No one was injured.
The investigation continues as little is known about the nature of the device. Individuals with information are urged to call CrimeStoppers at 875-8477.
