JEFFERSON CITY — An Amtrak passenger train traveling east from Kansas City collided with a vehicle just west of the state Capitol in central Missouri. No injuries have been reported.

An Amtrak spokesman said a vehicle was obstructing the tracks in the path of the train Tuesday morning around 9:30 and that no one aboard the train was injured. Spokesman Marc Magliari said the accident delayed the train by about two hours but caused little damage.

The Moniteau County Sheriff's Department reported that the vehicle's driver was not hurt but had no further information.

One of the Amtrak passengers told The Associated Press on Tuesday that a pickup truck was struck near Tipton, which is about 35 miles west of Jefferson City.
