FENTON — A legally blind man is credited with saving a woman from an attack.

Authorities say 45-year-old Roger Weston broke into an apartment near Fenton Saturday night and was waiting for Barb Ward to return home from work. Authorities say Weston is a convicted rapist.

A neighbor who asked to be identified only as Jerry heard noises coming from the apartment. Jerry is blind in his left eye and has about 25 percent vision in his right eye.

Jerry told KTVI-TV that he went to the apartment and kicked open the door, surprising the would-be attacker, who locked the door. Ward came home and confirmed she didn't know the man in her apartment, and police took the suspect away.

Weston is charged with burglary. An investigation continues.

Why is a convicted rapist out on the streets shouldn't they get life?! If it's proven 100% beyond a shadow of a doubt that you committed force able rape than you should get life. I know a lot of girls who this has happened too and it jacks their lives up forever..unfortunately it happens a lot more than people realize and they're a lot more rapists out there than anybody wants to acknowledge!
