PARIS, Mo. — A northeast Missouri man is dead, and charges could be upgraded against four suspects already accused of felony assault.
The victim is 23-year-old Jerome D. Herrin of Madison. Monroe County Sheriff David Hoffman said Herrin had been beaten. A second man who was attacked survived.
Accused in the attack are 26-year-old Lucas Summer of Macon, 22-year-old Michael Flowers of Macon, 20-year-old Charles Webb of Shelbyville and 18-year-old Donald Fuller III of Clarence. Hoffman said witnesses identified Summer as the suspect who struck Herrin.
Authorities were called Saturday morning to a home near Paris, where they found Herrin unresponsive. Investigators have not discussed a motive, or said why the men were at the home.
All four suspects remain jailed.
