The people of Columbia are depending on residents of the Sixth Ward to re-elect Barbara Hoppe to the City Council.
The entire Columbia community is affected by decisions of the City Council and thus must depend on council members to consider the common good of the community as well as the good of their particular wards.

Barbara Hoppe has been the epitome of excellence in her role on the council. She considers the concerns of people of the other neighborhoods of Columbia as well as her own neighborhood. She is sometimes falsely labeled as being against economic development because she insists that economic growth benefit the community as a whole.
The current global economic crisis is a consequence of the unbridled pursuit of narrow economic self-interest. We need people like Barbara Hoppe to ensure that the same thing doesn’t happen to Columbia.
