The Missouri softball team came from behind to beat Baylor 2-1 on Saturday at Getterman Stadium in Waco, Texas.
Sophomore catcher Megan Christopher hit a home run in the top of the sixth inning to tie the game, and Shana White, a former Hickman player, scored the winning run in the seventh on Marla Schweisberger’s single up the middle.
Christopher's home run, her third of season, landed in the parking lot behind the left field wall and broke up Baylor pitcher Whitney Canion’s five-inning no-hitter. Schweisberger is batting .552 this season with runners in scoring position.
Senior pitcher Stacy Delaney struck out six to earn her sixth win of the season, her first against a Big 12 Conference opponent.
Missouri (29-4, 2-1 Big 12) plays Game 2 of its series at Baylor at noon Sunday.
