LETTER: Robison the right choice to fight crime

Normally, I sign letters to the editor, but since my home has been broken into twice in the last six months, I’m leaving my first name off. I live on a busy street in a lovely home and take all the recommended precautions. And still, I’ve been the target of two burglaries. On April 7, you must vote for a City Council candidate who is going to give law enforcement the tools and funds they need to apprehend Columbia’s criminals. Rod Robison is the only candidate to receive the Columbia Police Officers Association endorsement. He also was an eight-year volunteer for the Police Department.

If crime concerns you, then vote for Rod Robison. His opponent thinks sustainability or being holistic is going to deter crime, but I’m pretty sure the criminals aren’t making the connection, as property crimes continue to increase even though we have bike lanes and PedNet.
