Barbara Hoppe has the right balance for Columbia: experience, vision and courage.
Her experience began before her days on the City Council. It includes participation in Hinkson Creek Valley Neighborhood Association and vigorous advocacy to save Stephens Lake. As a result, Stephens Lake Park is now a city asset enjoyed by citizens all over Columbia and will be for generations to come.
Barbara Hoppe took a brave stand against inept development at Cross Creek. In doing so, she protected property values of nearby residents and businesses. She also showed the courage to take a position unpopular with those whose idea of economic growth is taking money from their neighbors’ pockets.
The other candidate can cite nothing resembling Barbara Hoppe’s knowledge of, and history of involvement in, the life of our city.
For these reasons, I ask you to vote with me in re-electing Barbara Hoppe to the Columbia City Council.
