The Missouri softball team split a doubleheader with Kansas on Wednesday at Arrocha Ballpark in Lawrence, Kan. The Tigers won the first game 8-0 in six innings and lost the second 4-1.
In the first game, Tigers catcher Megan Christopher hit her second home run in three games with a leadoff shot in the top of the fifth inning. Missouri (31-5) put away the game with five runs in the sixth, including third baseman Lindsey Ubrun's two-out, two-run home run.
Tigers right-hander Stacy Delaney improved to 7-2 with her fourth complete game shutout of the season. Delaney, this week’s Big 12 Pitcher of the Week, struck out eight batters, the second most strikeouts for Delaney this season, and forced six flyouts.
In the second game, Kansas came back from 1-0 deficit with four runs in the bottom of the seventh. Tigers freshman Kristin Nottelmann was saddled with the loss after allowing three of Kansas’ four hits.
