Columbia TreeKeepers prepare for Arbor Day Tree Give Away

Bob Bailey wraps pitch loblolly pine saplings at the Parks Management Center in Columbia on Friday. As a member of the TreeKeepers organization, sponsored by Columbia Parks and Recreation, Bailey volunteers 36 hours of his time over two years in exchange for 12 hours of free forestry classes per year. The TreeKeepers helped wrap 700 saplings from seven different species that will be given away for free in the Activity and Recreation parking lot starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
