The Missouri men's and women's track and field teams swept Virginia on Saturday in the second annual Jefferson Cup at Walton Stadium.
Both Tigers teams won six of nine events. The men's team won 107-93, and the women's team won 105-95.
Missouri senior Chris Rohr set a stadium record in the hammer throw with a toss of 229 feet, 8 inches, the top throw in the nation this season.
Missouri freshman Leslie Farmer won the 400-meter hurdles and 400-meter dash.
This is Missouri's first year hosting the event, which honors Thomas Jefferson's ties to both schools. Jefferson founded the University of Virginia, and his purchase of the Louisiana Territory led to Missouri gaining statehood in 1821. MU became the first public, land-grant university in the territory when it was founded in 1839.
