After Valerie Teter tossed a complete game, no-hit shutout in the Columbia College softball team's first game at Illinois-Springfield, she started the second game back in the circle for the Cougars.
And while Teter earned the win again in Game 2, she fractured her leg sliding into home.
The sophomore did it all before suffering the injury. In the opener, She struck out 12 and walked one and had the Cougars' only RBI, which came when she hit a sacrifice fly in the eighth.
The Cougars took the opener 1-0 and the second game 8-3 to win their first two conference games.
On offense, the Cougars (20-8) were led by Rachel and Ashley Brawner. Rachel Brawner was 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, while Ashley Brawner was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
