COLUMBIA – Police are searching for two suspects that robbed a convenience store by gunpoint at approximately 2:33 a.m. Monday.
Two people, both believed to be men wearing ski masks, demanded cash from the registers of the Petro Mart at 2200 W. Ash St. while brandishing a handgun, according to a Columbia Police Department news release. The two suspects left on foot with an uncertain amount of cash and a number of tobacco products.
A canine unit attempted to locate the suspects, according to the release, and tracked them from the Petro Mart to 2401 W. Broadway before being unable to track them any further.
The suspects are described as between 5 feet, 10 inches and 6 feet tall. One wore a black ski mask and shirt, dark shoes and denim pants. The other was wearing a black ski mask and shirt, white shoes and khaki pants, according to the release. Both are described as thin.
