April 22 is Girl Scout Volunteer Day, and Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland is thankful for all the troop leaders, service team members, Board of Directors members, trainers, delegates, program facilitators, committee and task force members and United Way Day of Caring volunteers who give of their time and hearts to help girls develop lifelong leadership skills.
Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland is fortunate to have more than 6,000 adult members across central and southern Missouri, southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma. Girl Scouting empowers girls to be leaders by discovering a strong sense of self, connecting with others in an increasingly diverse world and taking action to help make the world a better place.
Girl Scouts exist for girls, but it exists because of volunteers. By giving their time and sharing their skills with other Girl Scouts, they make it possible for girls to become girls of courage, confidence and character. We are pleased and proud to recognize them today.
