Poster contest showcases research by MU life sciences

COLUMBIA —More than 300 posters filled the atrium of the Bond Life Sciences Center during the Missouri Life Sciences Week's poster session and research competition. The displays showcased the breadth of research conducted at MU by staff, faculty, post-doctoral students and undergraduates.

Winners were announced Friday in five categories:

Kristen Malone of the biological sciences department for her work regarding salamanders and habitat.
Amy Replogle of the plant sciences department for work regarding CLE peptides and feeding cell formation.
Danielle Tartar of the molecular microbiology and immunology department for her work regarding Type 1 diabetes and pathogenic T cells.
Carolyn Orbann of the anthropology department for her work regarding infectious diseases in historic Newfoundland.
Christopher Manuel of the Truman Veterans Hospital for his work regarding human prostate cancer.
