COLUMBIA — The Columbia Police Department responded to an assault Sunday at 1:41 a.m. at the Break Time located at 2709 E. Broadway. A 26-year-old male victim was found with a large laceration to his neck. As of 8 a.m., the victim was in stable condition at a hospital.
A press release from the Columbia Police Department described the perpetrator as a black male in his 20s, last seen in a brown shirt, blue jeans and a black-and-white cap. The release reported that the perpetrator was between 5 feet 10 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighed between 150 and 170 pounds and was driving a white, full-size SUV with chrome wheels.
Witnesses reported that the victim and the perpetrator were having a verbal argument when the latter cut the victim with an unknown weapon. The two men did not know each other. The Major Crimes Unit is investigating the incident.
