COLUMBIA — The Kewpies lost 1-0 Tuesday to Jefferson City, bringing their overall record to 4-6.
“We played well,” said head coach Tony Gragnani, “we just couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net and finish.”
Although this is the Kewpies' fifth consecutive loss, Gragnani still encouraged his team, reminding it to focus on its goal.
“The regular season is important to us,” Gragnani said, “but our goal is to win districts, and we have to prepare ourselves for that. We will just have to focus more on our offense and putting the ball in the back of the net.”
The Kewpies' next match will come this weekend when they participate in the Smith-Cotton Lady Tiger Soccer Tournament. The tournament will be played at Suzie Ditzfeld Soccer Park and Clover Dale Soccer Park on Friday and Saturday in Sedalia.
