Pistachio products recalled

The following recalls have been announced because the products may be contaminated with salmonella, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, especially in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems:

Jerry's Nut House is recalling select pistachios. No illness has been reported. The recalled in-shell pistachios were available in Colorado, Kansas, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Wyoming. The shelled, roasted and salted pistachios were available in Colorado and Nebraska. The shelled, raw pistachios were available in Colorado and Missouri. Details: by phone at Service 303-861-2262.

This recall includes the following products:

Whole Foods Market is voluntarily recalling all code dates of a variety of bulk and prepackaged items that contain pistachios. No illnesses have been reported. The recalled products were sold in Whole Foods Market stores located in Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, the District of Columbia and Wisconsin. Walgreens is recalling Deerfield Farms Mediterranean Fruit and Nut blend sold in stores from March 5 to April 21 because the product may contain pistachios. No illnesses have been reported. The product being recalled is Deerfield Farms Mediterranean Fruit and Nut blend in the 10-oz. size with the lot number 04902245444. Details: by phone at 847-315-2755.
