Missouri golf tied for seventh place at Big 12 championship

The Tigers' Michelle Morgan shot an opening round 77 and is tied for 11th place in the individual standings. The team is tied with Colorado.

COLUMBIA —The Missouri women's golf team fired an opening round 317 on Friday to stand in a tie for seventh place at the Big 12 Conference championships.

The Tigers are tied with Colorado heading into Saturday's second round in Lubbock, Texas.

Oklahoma State leads with a round of 295, followed by Texas A&M (304) and Kansas State (311).

Junior Michelle Morgan led Missouri with a score of 77 and is tied for 11th place in the individual standings. Senior Chelsea Schriewer sits one shot behind Morgan, turning in an opening round 78, placing her in a tie for 17th place.

Junior Julia Potter is tied for 28th place after shooting an 80 in round one, while freshman Marissa Cook is tied for 39th place with a round of 82 and sophomore Lindsey Haupt is tied for 49th after an 83 on day one.

 

The final round scheduled for Sunday.
