Four taken to hospital after T-bone accident

A red 1993 Chevy pickup truck was struck on its passenger side by a black 2005 Jaguar while crossing U.S. 63 on Highway CC westbound on Saturday afternoon.

COLUMBIA – Four people were injured in a T-bone accident at the intersection of U.S. 63 and state Highway CC on Saturday afternoon, according to a Boone County Fire Protection District news release.

A red 1993 Chevy pickup truck, driven by David Davidson, 29, of Columbia, was struck on its passenger side by a black 2005 Jaguar, driven by Clifford Richardson, 84, of Salisbury, while crossing U.S. 63 on Highway CC westbound, the release said. Both cars ran off of the road into a field on the west side of the highway.

Davidson was airlifted from the scene by helicopter to University Hospital in serious condition. His passenger, Aleck Alexander, 20, of Sturgeon, was also taken by ambulance with moderate injuries, according to the release.

Both Richardson and his passenger, Eva Richardson, 82, also of Salisbury, were taken to University Hospital with moderate and serious injuries via Boone Hospital Ambulance Service, according to the release.

Firefighters with the Boone County Fire District responded to the accident just before 1 p.m. According to the Missouri State Highway patrol, the Richardsons were wearing seatbelts. Davidson was not wearing a seatbelt, and it is unknown whether Alexander was wearing one.
