Today's Question: Missouri football players prepare for the NFL

Football weekends got a little longer for Missouri football fans on Saturday and Sunday when six former MU stars were selected by NFL teams during the league’s two-day draft.

As expected, wide receiver and return man Jeremy Maclin was selected the earliest, when Philadelphia traded up to get him with the 19th pick in the draft.

The former Tigers were selected by six different teams. Ziggy Hood is heading to defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh. William Moore is going to Atlanta. Chase Coffman will play for Cincinnati. Colin Brown is off to the Chiefs, the team he cheered for as a kid growing up in Missouri, and Stryker Sulak was chosen by Oakland.

Quarterback Chase Daniel signed a free agent contract with the Washington Redskins.

ESPN analyst Jeffri Chadiha said Maclin and Hood landed in good situations. Maclin will get to catch passes from Pro Bowl quarterback Donovan McNabb on a team that was good enough to get within a game of the Super Bowl a year ago, while Hood is joining an already vaunted Pittsburgh defense.

Speculation on the rest of the selected players' future is harder to find. Moore is the only other player heading to a playoff team from last season, but with the parity in the NFL over the last decade or so, perhaps no team should ever be ruled out as a playoff possibility before the start of the season.
