The Missouri men's golf team placed ninth at the Big 12 Conference Championships on Wednesday at Prairie Dunes Golf and Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan.
Weather delayed the start of play for the second time in three days. Even with the difficult weather conditions, Will Harrold shot an even-par 70 to help the Tigers shoot a 297 in the fourth and final round to finish 84-over par. Tenth-place Oklahoma shot a 288 on Wednesday, but finished at 85-over. Eleventh-place Nebraska was 86-over.
Oklahoma State won, shooting a 1-over par 281 Wednesday to finish at 29-over for the tournament. Second-place Colorado closed at 43-over. Texas A&M (47-over) was third, and a 4-under par 276 Wednesday helped Kansas State earn fourth at 50-over.
Baylor (54-0ver) was fifth, Texas Tech (68-over) sixth and Kansas (71-over) seventh. Texas shot an even-par 280 in the final round to finish 74-over and nudge Missouri out of eighth.
Oklahoma State's Morgan Hoffman earned medalist honors, buoyed by a 4-under 66 on Wednesday. Baylor's Bill Allcorn was second, three shots back.
Harrold, a sophomore, was Missouri's top individual, finishing in a four-way tie for 17th. Ryne Fisher tied for 32nd, while Peter Malnati and and Tyler Hills closed in a four-way tie for 47th. Chris Johnson rounded out Missouri's scoring tied for 57th.
NCAA men's golf regionals are scheduled to take place May 14 to 16.
