The Columbia College softball team beat Hannibal-LaGrange 8-0 in six innings Friday in the opening round of the American Midwest Conference tournament in Jefferson City.
Ashley Farmer had three RBIs for the Cougars (27-11, 13-4), including a two-run single in the fifth inning and a one-run double in the sixth, and Tori Long hit a first-pitch leadoff home run in the third.
Kacey Rehagen earned the win, striking out 10 and letting up just one hit.
Columbia College advances to play at 1 p.m. Saturday against William Baptist at the Field of Legends Softball Complex in Jefferson City.
