PrintBlaine Dalton, a freshman quarterback for the MU football team, was arrested by the Columbia Police Department at 11:07 p.m. Thursday, according to Maj. Tom Reddin of the Boone County Sheriff's Department.
Reddin said Dalton was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $4,500. Dalton made bail and was released from Boone County Jail by 2:40 a.m., Reddin said.

That is some delightful news, I'm sure Pinkle is having a good talk with him while Nebraska laughs.
@King: Nebraska recruited Blaine Gabbert. He is not the one that was arrested.

I don't know how one mistake makes this kid an idiot. Poor choice? Absolutely. But this kid is 18 and is definitely young enough to learn from his mistakes and move on... and so should you.
I say Pinkle should have a tough rule get arrested one time your off the team. They have a good thing going right now and don't need to start things like this again.

I think so... if you read the Tribs report this kid had pot pills,alcohol and fake I.d. Isn't it around finals time on campus? As I remember it this is when classes were in full speed and every paper and project was coming due and finals to study for not out partying on a Thurs night.
Doesn't sound like a 1st time poor choice.. ... sound more like he's got this down to an art form already and I doubt it would improve from here. I agree one felony and your off the team!
This country needs to get cleaned up. This is no image to present to the young fans who can be influenced by what they see their heroes doing

Too bad the staff didn't do it's homework. He was busted for posession of weed last spring in blue springs. Was supposed to be suspended for year but thanks to ESPN was back on the field. Seems like he has a history of making bad decisions. Maybe MIZZOU made a bad decision in making him a part of the football program. This won't be the last time you'll see dalton's name in the paper - and it won't be for his play on the field!
I'm confused as to how a news blast simply announcing that Dalton had been dismissed means the staff didn't do it's homework....Obviously they weren't going for in-depth coverage at this point in time...but hmm, what's this? http://www.columbiamissourian.com/multim...
