KANSAS CITY — Missouri health officials say four more probable cases of swine flu have been discovered in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
The Department of Health and Senior Services said Sunday the new cases were found during testing at the state's Public Health Laboratory of specimens sent to the lab by doctors whose patients showed symptoms of the illness.
On Saturday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed that a Kansas City resident tested for the H1N1 virus while receiving medical care for a different condition in Nebraska.
Two other probable cases — involving a father and son — were discovered Friday in Howard County in central Missouri. The state's first swine flu case was disclosed on Wednesday in Platte County.
