COLUMBIA — A man is being hospitalized after police allege he brought a gun into a building at MU.
University police received a report around noon Tuesday that a gun had been passed in a box to another person in the Division of Information Technology building.
MU's police chief, Jack Watring, said the weapon was not brandished.
Watring said the man has checked himself into a hospital out of town, and police have not been able to interview him.
Watring would not say whether the man is employed by the university. But he did say the university's Human Resources Department is helping in the investigation.
