PrintHANNIBAL— A new river trail in Hannibal has been closed for repairs following a mudslide on a slope overlooking a 1,000-foot section.
The section of the River Road Trail opened two months ago, but today is unrecognizable.
Parks Director Chris Atkinson said debris from the mudslide damaged a fence, a seating area and asphalt.
He estimated it would cost in the tens of thousands of dollars to repair and wasn't sure if insurance would cover the costs.
