COLUMBIA – The second day of the NCAA East Regional wasn’t as kind for MU golfer Julia Potter.

Potter shot a 5-over par 75, putting her at 7-over for the tournament held at University of Florida’s Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla. Potter had teed off in the morning for her first round on Thursday, but played an afternoon round on Friday.

The conditions in the afternoon round posed problems for Potter. She said the heat made the greens much quicker, and combined with tougher hole locations, made round two much more difficult.

“Because we played in the afternoon it was definitely windier,” she said. “It was very hot and humid.”

She will tee off at 7:30 a.m. Saturday for her final round. And Potter is happy to be getting an early start.

“With the heat, teeing off in the morning, I think, is a little better,” she said.

“I still have an outside chance,” Potter added. “I have to shoot a good score to keep myself in it.”
