Columbia woman arrested after knife assault

COLUMBIA – The Boone County Sheriff's Department arrested a woman involved in fight that took place on May 1 in the parking lot of Pepper's Nightclub, according to a news release from the Boone County Sheriff's Department.

According to the release, deputies arrested Terea Coats shortly before 9 p.m. Friday for first- and third-degree assault, armed criminal action, conspiracy, second-degree property damage, unlawful use of a weapon and a felony out-of-county stealing warrant.

Deputies contacted the victim of the fight on May 2 and learned of the altercation that took place around 1:30 a.m. the day before.

During the incident, a woman assaulted two individuals and damaged a vehicle belonging to one of the individuals in the parking lot, according to the release. The woman used a knife to stab one of the individuals, who then received medical attention and was later released from the hospital.

Coats is in the Boone County Jail and her bond is set at $55,000 as of 4 p.m. Saturday.
